Thank you, Andrea. So nice of you to say. I've left out two important novels that I read during this time as well. Will go back and add them to the post. One is a Love in the Ruins: The Adventures of a Bad Catholic at a Time Near the End of the World by Walker Percy. It's a dark comedy and satirical novel. I came across it in a Word on Fire article. The other is The Shadow of His Wings by Father Gereon Goldman. It's the telling of his life story as child growing up in Germany, forced to be a Nazi officer and becomes a priest and living his faith and tending to his flock in heroic circumstances during the war. I learned of the novel through an email from Word on Fire. Both books helped me immensely for different reasons. More crumbs for me left by the Planner!
